Hey, I'm Taral
I
graduated from Wayne State University with a B.S. in Public Health and a deep
interest in medicine, research, and community wellness. I’ve worked in clinical care, research,
public health, and teaching—experiences that taught me the value of empathy, curiosity, and human
connection in science. I’m passionate about bringing people together to make healthcare more
compassionate and accessible.
When I’m not working or studying, you’ll probably find me traveling,
lost in music, or binge watching a new show.
How I Spend My Time
Here is a consolidated look into my experiences and the impact I
strive to make across different fields.
Clinical Work and Patient Care
I've spent years at the
intersection of medicine and human connection, working as a Lead Medical Assistant in a
psychiatric clinic, volunteering in a large hospital setting and hospice care, and more.
What keeps me grounded is the belief that good care starts with truly listening.
Research
The research I have contributed
to has been diverse -- spanning pharmacology, psychology, behavioral neuroscience, and
public health. I've completed two independent research projects studying the biopsychosocial
drivers of health, predominantly in urban youth.
Community Engagement, Leadership,
Education
I am committed to uplifting
the communities around me. I've taught literacy workshops for non-native English speakers,
co-launched an innovation challenge connecting students with Detroit community partners, and
helped with the distribution of medical supplies to countries in need.
Hobbies
In my free time, I enjoy
website/app development, listening to music of all genres, and travelling. I recently
founded
Scribe Step, a soon-to-be launched website and mobile app aimed to assist pre-health
university students with tracking their activities and document meaningful encounters and
anecdotes.
